This five-piece set is the only complete alchemical system offered within the Alchemy Elixirs body of work.
 
The Five Cloaks of the Winter Earth was crafted as a unified winter working – a contained alchemical architecture shaped through long extraction, timed infusion, and careful ceremonial sealing. These are not symbolic gestures, but materially made elixirs: liquid vessels designed to hold and transmit seasonal intelligence through plant, mineral, fermentative, and alchemical processes. Only four complete sets exist.
 
The Set
Each set contains five 50 ml alchemical ritual elixirs, offered together as a single, inseparable whole. These bottles are intentionally larger than our other individual Alchemy Elixirs.

  • Preserved with a minute amount of alcohol – for ceremonial use and responsible consumption
 
Each vessel is hand-finished, sealed, and dressed individually. Variations in texture, tone, and surface are part of the work and speak to its making. This set is offered only as a complete system and will not be separated or reproduced.
 
The Five Elixirs
Winter Cloak
For Passage, Concealment, and Safe Journeying
Winter Cloak is a medicine of shelter and subtlety. It belongs to the old knowledge that not all power moves by being seen. Some work requires quiet passage – the ability to move between worlds without leaving trace or becoming entangled. This elixir supports journeying work, liminal travel, and the art of returning safely with what has been gathered. It is a cloak not of armour, but of attunement.
 
Starlight
For Orientation, Remembrance, and the Night Sky Within
Starlight is dark in the way deep night is dark – expansive rather than empty. Inspired by the midnight sky and ancestral constellations, this elixir carries the medicine of orientation when familiar landmarks fall away. It supports those navigating long inner nights or thresholds of unknowing, where guidance comes through pattern and alignment rather than certainty.
 
Blood and Bones
For Ancestral Presence, Lineage, and the Long Memory
Blood and Bones speaks to ancestral continuity – the lived inheritance carried in the body, the blood, and the skeletal memory. This elixir supports sober, grounded ancestral work that honours both strength and cost. It is for those willing to stand within their lineage without romanticism, listening carefully to what seeks acknowledgement and integration.
 
Wild Rose Spirit
For Whole-Hearted Presence and Untamed Tenderness
Wild Rose Spirit is made from the whole wild rose – thorn, flower, and hip – carrying the full-bodied truth of the plant as it grows beyond cultivation. This elixir supports tenderness that does not collapse and openness that does not abandon discernment. It speaks to the heart that remains available to beauty while staying rooted in its own shape.
 
Thorn Spirit
For Protection, Discernment, and the Integrity of the Path
Crafted from crabapple, blackberry, rose, haws, and hedgerow medicine, Thorn Spirit carries the wisdom of edges and boundaries. It supports intelligent protection – the kind that sharpens discernment without hardening the heart. This is an elixir for walking one’s path with clarity, respect, and self-trust.
 
Collector’s Note
This is a limited collector’s edition, offered in larger volumes than the standard Alchemy Elixirs and produced in extremely small number. Each set represents a significant investment of time, material, and local craftsmanship – from wild harvesting and long extraction to hand-made glass and ceremonial sealing. Once these four sets are gone, this particular winter alchemical system will not be repeated.
 
Use
These elixirs are intended for ritual, ceremonial, and intentional use. A small amount is sufficient. They contain a minute amount of alcohol and should be consumed responsibly.

THE FRAMEWORK FOR THIS COLLECTION

Our Winter/Earth Element Collection arrives into the season of Samhain – that threshold between the last new moon of the dying Celtic year in October, astronomical Samhain, and the first new moon of the year to come in November. It is here that endings and beginnings lie folded together – a dreamtime of moons that leads us into the deepest dark – asking us to walk slowly, to walk in Earth time. 

 

This is not the hurried clock-time of the everyday. It is slow time – deep time – recorded in bedrock and fault-line, in layers pressed through clay and shale. As the earth keeps her history in stone and strata, so we carry memory in bone. The land is our larger body – marrow and mountain, clay and skin, each carrying memory. To enter this season is to enter those depths, to map again the contour lines of the inner ground, to feel where the body holds fractures, pressure, weight-bearing, release. The work is slow. The work is old. Stone remembers, and so do we. Our bodies are cairns of remembrance.

Between Samhain and Solstice we are pilgrims moving through inner hollows and chambers of the soul. It is sanctuary time, a time of reverence and devotion, where prayer is not passive but visceral and embodied – where we kneel not before idols but within the tabernacle of our own being. The ember of light is entrusted to us here, and it must be guarded with care – fanned in trust, sheltered in hope, nourished with care, until it kindles to flame and warmth.

Samhain is also the season of surrender. To grieve what has passed in the twelve months gone. To honour ancestors, yes, but also to lay down the burdens of the year, the losses and thresholds crossed, the shocks and griefs that linger. As leaves return to soil, so sorrow returns to earth, darkening into humus that feeds what will come. In the body, this work is felt in the earth element – in the musculoskeletal frame, in the gut’s deep work of breaking down and letting go. To release is to create space, and to hold is to become heavy. The earth teaches us this balance, for she both receives and yields in the same breath.

 

This is the annual pilgrimage to the soul’s inner shrine – beyond one life, beyond one line of ancestry. It is the thread that connects us with stone and to soil, with grandmother and grandfather, with all who came before and all who will come after. In this time-out-of-time we reweave ourselves into that thread, into the north, into the slow, enduring rhythm of earth itself. And from that ground – from a living tapestry of blood and bone and surrender – the Solstice light is born again. A flame at the heart of winter.
