This is the Saille Ritual Rattle Collection ~ released to honor Imbolc and Brigid, healer, seer, Spring maiden, and solar heroine.
RATTLES AS RITUAL & HEALING TOOLS
Rattles are ceremonial tools that resonate primarily with the fire element, their sound resembling the hissing of a snake. As a tool, they are used to purify, cleanse and transform (an individual, group energy, or place) and are also wonderful to use to energize or invigorate if a person is feeling sluggish or a space is stagnant. This is their transformative work as traditional healing tools. What resonates with you, how you choose to uniquely work with these ritual tools, your experience, and the direction this takes is entirely up to you. It is your intimate expression of prayer and reflects your unique ceremonial intention.
Saille Ritual Rattle (traditionally handwoven Irish willow rattle)
This stunning traditional style Irish rattle is handwoven from Willow and filled with seven hazelnuts, one for each direction. It's warm colours reflect the fire associations with Brigid as tender of the hearth and keeper of the flame.
Willow is the tree of Imbolc and Hazel is the tree of Lúnasa, festival of Lugh, polar opposite of Imbolc in the Celtic Wheel of the Year. I purposely chose to entwine these two as one, for harmony and healing of both masculine and feminine self. Wholeness.Willow relates with the moon, emotional wellBEing, resilience, adaptability, divination, intuition, dreamwork, insight, the virgin archetype, the feminine aspect (both in men and women), feelings, and the power of the subconscious self. Hazel relates with inner guidance, overcoming challenges, and too has associations with water, divining, intuition and flow.Weaving filaments is an attribute of the air element, and Spring, so what better way to mark the first day of Spring than with a woven rattle. These rattles come in two sizes and there are nineteen in the collection (19 is the number sacred to Brigid). Please ensure to select the size you wish to order from the drop down menu. These ritual tools are keepsakes that I hope will pass from generation to generation. This heritage skill is now extremely rare which is why I hope to honor the tradition through this collection.- This collection was created to support a community project close to my heart ~ West Cork Women Against Violence project in my home town of Bantry. The essence of Imbolc is new beginnings, and proceeds from these rattles gives back to community by ensuring continued essential services for those in need.
