SIGIL SCENTS The Wildflower Altar

A Blooming Symphony of Earth’s Fragrance, Woven with Sun and Soil

A gift from the untouched Alpine meadows, The Wildflower Altar offers six pure perfume oils—each one a single, wild bloom, captured in its most intimate, untamed form. These oils, crafted from organic, biodynamic botanicals, invite you to become a co-creator of your fragrance.

Weave the oils together, layer them as your spirit desires, and craft a scent as unique as you are—an olfactory tapestry that reflects your essence, your story, and your connection to the wild.

Each 10ml bottle is an intimate work of art—adorned with a paste of crystals, earth pigments, wild clays, and minerals, reflecting the colors of the meadows at dawn and dusk. These bottles are not mere vessels, but tactile treasures, carrying the spirit of the wild within their beautifully organic form. Each oil is a fragrant talisman, a silent offering from the earth, waiting to be woven into a symphony of scents, a personal signature that speaks to your inner landscape.

Beneath the oils rests a hand-sculpted wild clay plate—untreated, textured, and unrefined—providing a sacred space for your fragrances to rest and mingle, honouring the wild beauty that each one carries. Made from clay gathered in the south, the direction of fire, it holds the warmth of Brigid’s hearth, the shifting light of sunrise and sunset, and the eternal pulse of the earth.

This collection is more than a perfume; it is an offering—a fragrant posy of summer wildflowers in a bottle. A gift that invites you to blend, to layer, to weave the oils together into a scent that reflects who you are, a fragrance as wild and free as the land itself. Fragrant memories for you to create, and name.

The Wildflower Altar—a collection where nature’s artistry and your own converge. Weave together the scents, create your story, and carry the wild beauty of the meadows wherever you go.

ABOUT OUR GLASS DABBERS:

Up until now, my ritual anointing oils, skin serums, and pure perfume oils required you either tilt the bottle to use, or use a pipette to apply them. My Celtic Wheel of the Year perfume oils came in a bottle with a metal roller applicator. Pipettes have a rubber and plastic squeezy top on them, and the roller applicator was encased in plastic, there were no greener alternatives and I have really wanted to come up with a way of replacing them. I have, and it's here!!!!!

I created a glass dabber design that is a most elegant solution, and because I like my tools to multitask, the dabber has been designed to not alone function as a beautiful applicator for these fluid ritual offerings, but also serves as an accupressure tool and facial massage wand!

These beauties are handblown from borosilicate glass and expertly crafted here in Tirol by a family that has been blowing glass for over 400 years. They're durable, hygenic, practical and oh so very pretty! Please note that our glass dabbers are made to order each season and available to purchase here.

  • The Art of Pure Botanical Perfume Oils: A Timeless Craft of Reverence and Relationship

In a world shaped by speed and mass production, the creation of pure botanical perfume oils remains a rare and sacred art. This slow and intimate practice requires more than skill — it calls for deep relationship with the living world. Rooted in patience, observation, and devotion, this work is a dialogue with the plants themselves, carried out over seasons and generations.

Understanding Botanical Oils: Infused, Essential & Perfume

To appreciate the depth of this craft, it helps to understand the difference between infused oils, essential oils, and pure botanical perfume oils.

Infused Oils are made by steeping whole plant material in a carrier oil (like olive or jojoba) over weeks or months. The plant’s therapeutic properties and subtle aroma gradually infuse the oil. These gentle preparations support healing but lack the layered depth of a true perfume oil.

Essential Oils are produced through steam distillation or cold-pressing. This extracts the plant’s volatile aromatic compounds in their most concentrated form. Potent and fragrant, essential oils represent just one part of the plant’s essence — often missing the subtler dimensions present in whole-plant relationships.

Pure Botanical Perfume Oils are the heart of my practice. They are composed with care, weaving together plant fragrances in their whole and living form. The process is slow, intuitive, and rooted in a long, respectful bond with each plant. A true perfume oil is not just a scent — it is an unfolding experience, alive with story and spirit.

    A Practice Rooted in Relationship

Crafting perfume oils begins long before blending. It begins with growing the plants from seed, tending them through each stage of life, and observing their rhythms — their growth, their flowering, their responses to sun and rain. Over time, a bond forms that is more than horticultural — it is relational, ancestral, alive.

At the end of each season, I gather seeds from the plants, ensuring the next generation is connected to the last. This seed-saving completes a circle — not only sustaining the plants, but deepening the bond between us across seasons. Through this generational rhythm, I come to know the plant’s energetic signature and cellular memory, and the relationship matures.

    The Dance with Time

Each plant holds its own timing — not only in season but in hour, in light, in moon phase. Roses and jasmine, for instance, must be gathered early in the morning, before the sun disperses their delicate oils. Others speak more clearly at night, under moonlight. These patterns are ancient, and I follow them as faithfully as possible — harvesting when the plant’s fragrance is at its peak.

Fragrance is not just about plant species — it is about the when, the how, the offering. It is an act of timing and trust.

    Working with Sun and Moon

The cycles of sun and moon are not metaphor but method. My garden is mapped by light — the arc of the sun, the pull of the moon. I track moon phases to guide planting, harvesting, and even the timing of blending. These celestial forces shape each plant’s potency and presence. When aligned with them, the resulting oil carries not only the plant’s body, but its cosmic rhythm.

In this way, each bottle becomes a vessel of earth, sun, moon, and season — an alchemy of physical and metaphysical forces, woven together through intention.

    The Devotion Behind the Craft

This is not mass production. There is no haste. Each fragrance note is observed and selected with reverence. The process asks for presence, for slowness, for deep listening. It is a ritual of care — tending the land, honouring the life of the plant, and allowing time to reveal the right moment to gather.

These oils are not made to imitate nature — they are nature, distilled through relationship. To wear them is to carry the scent of a particular season, a particular plant, a particular moment. Each is a talisman, an offering — a scent-story rooted in land, sky, and breath.

    A Fading but Returning Art

In an age of synthetic scent and instant gratification, this kind of practice can feel like a relic. Mass-produced perfumes offer predictability and speed, but they sever us from the deeper story — from the land, the seasons, the labour, and the love.

And yet, there is a quiet return. More artisans are remembering the old ways, honouring the plants, listening again to the rhythm of time. There is beauty in this return — a weaving back of relationship, a restoring of reverence.

    A Living Expression of Earth

Pure botanical perfume oils are more than fragrance — they are living expressions of relationship, of love, of patience. Each bottle contains the scent of a season, the touch of a moonbeam, the whisper of a flower gathered at the edge of dawn. They are not made — they are given, over time, through care.

To wear them is to remember something older — a slower way, rooted in presence and respect. In a hurried world, they offer a fragrant reminder of all that becomes possible when we take the time to truly listen.
