This listing is for one handcrafted textile paper set, from The heART of Ritual.

I really wanted to create a paper that I feel glows to honour the radiance of Imbolc and essence of Spring. Spring relates with all things communications, the virgin aspect, purity, the colour white, but also relates with filaments of all kinds and this includes textiles! As such, it was clear that this set needed to be crafted with old fabric, and this is exactly what happened. The finished paper was then dipped into a colour wash/pale pigment made from Rosa Canina (the native Dog Rose), and this gives the paper an ethereal hue that I love. I chose Rosa Canina as this paper's plant partner as it is a Venus plant, and Venus is one of the planetary rulers of the Spring and Air Element.

The reason behind creating this paper was as I wanted to work with a ritual tool for new beginnings, purity, cleansing, cleaning and detoxing. I wanted to work with invocations and ritually call in ways of seeding change. Change is not always a pleasant experience, nor is the path to proactively creating change in one's own life an easy path. As such, the integration of rose became a vital aspect of this paper, as it enhances grace, beauty and appreciation for all aspects of the work and all areas of the journey. It softens out any hardness or harshness so to speak. Clearly, you can work with these in whatever way you feel drawn to, this is just my personal insight.

This set is a selection of handcrafted textile papers, made from old cotton tea dresses dipped in native wild rose petal pigment. As the rose I worked with for this set is Rosa Canina (dog rose), and this is a pale pink rose, there is a delicate pale pink hue to this paper that is very difficult to capture on photograph. Each set is decorated with dried pressed botanicals throughout, wrapped in handcrafted plant paper, hermetically sealed with pyrite and beeswax on the outside and sealed with fuchsite, malachite and beeswax on the inside, and embossed with my Celtic Wheel of the Year botanical prayer mandala.

Just eight of these sets were created, and you will receive one of the eight pictured here.
