This listing is for this season's set of Celtic Wheel of the Year Botanical Pure Perfume Oil from The heART of Ritual.

There are two blends to choose from, each specifically formulated to work with the element, energies, archetypes, and attributes of the season. Each blend relates with rituals and ceremonies specific to each of the Celtic festivals within that season - as there are two festivals each season, two different perfume oils are released each season.

Your chosen perfume comes with a naturally marbled hand gathered pink kaolin clay perfume 'diffuser stone', embossed with our Botanical Wheel of the Year prayer mandala and decorated with natural plant fiber cordage made from Mugwort and Wild Rose. You can read more about our custom made glass dabbers, which can be purchased seperately and are made to order below.

This season's blends are Lúnasa and Autumn Equinox, please be sure to select the one you wish to order from the drop down menu.

Each bottle is adorned with highly textured natural structural paste made from creamy kaolin clay that I gathered in the Balkans two Autumns ago, ocean tumbled quartz that I gathered along the shores of Bantry Bay, and selenite that I gathered at the shoreline in Spain.

Each vessel is adorned with a mini posey of wild native botanicals, and a hand written plant fiber paper label embossed with our Celtic Wheel of the Year mandala art. These are lovingly held in place with a beautiful plant fiber cordage made from mugwort and rose. Each vessel carries within it 10mls of pure perfume oil.

Our hand crafted pure perfume oils are small batch and made with wild native medicinal herbs only. They come in locally made recycled glass apothecary bottles and are absolutely free of essential oils, fragrances, foreign/exotic ingredients, and all forms of nonsense ~ every single ingredient is gathered by hand, every remedy made here from start to finish ~ because integrity is paramount and we genuinely care about sustainability, authentic green offerings, the health of this planet and your wellBEing.

ABOUT OUR GLASS DABBERS:

Up until now, my ritual anointing oils, skin serums, and pure perfume oils required you either tilt the bottle to use, or use a pipette to apply them. My Celtic Wheel of the Year perfume oils came in a bottle with a metal roller applicator. Pipettes have a rubber and plastic squeezy top on them, and the roller applicator was encased in plastic, there were no greener alternatives and I have really wanted to come up with a way of replacing them. I have, and it's here. I created a glass dabber design that is a most elegant solution, and because I like my tools to multitask, the dabber has been designed to not alone function as a beautiful applicator for these fluid ritual offerings, but also serves as an accupressure tool and facial massage wand! These beauties are handblown from borosilicate glass and expertly crafted here in Tirol by a family that has been blowing glass for over 400 years. They're durable, hygenic, practical and oh so very pretty! Please note that our glass dabbers are made to order each season and you can order yours via our shop now.

THE FRAMEWORK FOR THIS COLLECTION

Our Winter/Earth Element Collection arrives into the season of Samhain – that threshold between the last new moon of the dying Celtic year in October, astronomical Samhain, and the first new moon of the year to come in November. It is here that endings and beginnings lie folded together – a dreamtime of moons that leads us into the deepest dark – asking us to walk slowly, to walk in Earth time.

This is not the hurried clock-time of the everyday. It is slow time – deep time – recorded in bedrock and fault-line, in layers pressed through clay and shale. As the earth keeps her history in stone and strata, so we carry memory in bone. The land is our larger body – marrow and mountain, clay and skin, each carrying memory. To enter this season is to enter those depths, to map again the contour lines of the inner ground, to feel where the body holds fractures, pressure, weight-bearing, release. The work is slow. The work is old. Stone remembers, and so do we. Our bodies are cairns of remembrance.

Between Samhain and Solstice we are pilgrims moving through inner hollows and chambers of the soul. It is sanctuary time, a time of reverence and devotion, where prayer is not passive but visceral and embodied – where we kneel not before idols but within the tabernacle of our own being. The ember of light is entrusted to us here, and it must be guarded with care – fanned in trust, sheltered in hope, nourished with care, until it kindles to flame and warmth.

Samhain is also the season of surrender. To grieve what has passed in the twelve months gone. To honour ancestors, yes, but also to lay down the burdens of the year, the losses and thresholds crossed, the shocks and griefs that linger. As leaves return to soil, so sorrow returns to earth, darkening into humus that feeds what will come. In the body, this work is felt in the earth element – in the musculoskeletal frame, in the gut’s deep work of breaking down and letting go. To release is to create space, and to hold is to become heavy. The earth teaches us this balance, for she both receives and yields in the same breath.

This is the annual pilgrimage to the soul’s inner shrine – beyond one life, beyond one line of ancestry. It is the thread that connects us with stone and to soil, with grandmother and grandfather, with all who came before and all who will come after. In this time-out-of-time we reweave ourselves into that thread, into the north, into the slow, enduring rhythm of earth itself. And from that ground – from a living tapestry of blood and bone and surrender – the Solstice light is born again. A flame at the heart of winter.
