This listing is for one Botanically Ecoprinted Artist Notebook from The heART of Ritual.
This hand crafted artist notebook is created to document thoughts in words and pictures as a sketchbook or mini journal. Between these covers is a space for you to wander and make your marks.
The book covers were botanically printed (contact prints/ecodye) with a selection of native tree and wild medicinal herb leaves. Both sides of the cover is ecoprinted and is not modified in any way. The cover has purposely not been sealed or varnished as I want it to be able to live, breath, and release colour onto your fingers as you hold it, work with it, and move through it. It is hand bound and hand stitched with nettle cordage. Each book measures approx 21cms x 7cmx and contains blank 100gsm pages on which you can write or draw. Each book is closed with a clasp that's been ritually sealed with wax, and adorned with a sprig of wild Irish Heather, fronds of golden Grass, and Selenite and Garnet crystal powders.
A word on this photo - it was impossible to capture the beautiful colours contained on the ecoprinted covers of these books, so you are in for a really pleasant surprise when yours arrives! The textures, colours and details are really stunning and they are a beautiful art piece in themselves.
As a responsible human and environmentalist I only work with ingredients I have sustainably gathered in the wild, there are no exotic imported ingredients in anything I make. I don't use essential oils - this is a personal habit as I have super sensitive skin and I don't make essential oils myself as it requires too much plant material for a minute amount of oil and I find that to be unsustainable for our local environment here. I choose instead to add native resins, aromatic roots, leaves and flowers for their natural scents. As a ritualist, energetic integrity and balanced exchange is paramount and as such, I only work with what I've ceremoniously gathered with my own hands. That which is gathered is only done with with full permission from each plant with personal offerings gifted in gratitude by way of balancing the exchange - a balance that is a vital part of all that I am and do. These slow medicine offerings were lovingly birthed over many moon cycles from sustainably harvested, organic, wildcrafted native ingredients, our own medicinal plant extracts, wild cold pressed oils, superfine crystal powders, our tree, flower, mushroom and crystal essences, and LOVE.

Themes & Focus for this Collection
Our upcoming seasonal shop opening coincides with the Celtic Festival of Samhain and takes place within the liminal space between the last new moon of the Celtic year in October, astronomical Samhain, and the first new moon of the Celtic New Year in November. It is during this time that the death of the old (year) and the birth of the new (year) occurs. With this we enter the dreamtime cycle of moons; a time honouring the birth that takes place during and after the darkest times. It is a potent time of observing blood, bones, ancestors, (re)connection, introspection, and 'getting to know the lay of the land'...within. Many refer to this time as a 'thinning of the veils', however those of us whose ears are finely tuned, we know that the 'veil' is always thin.
Winter/Earth references throughout this ephemeral collection include;
