The idea for this came from a conversation with one of my herbal students who recently returned to live in Europe and is in the process of discovering our native ritual fumigation herbs. Part of this is learning more about native spices to work with in place of the non native ones most use in foods, and of course discussion quickly delved into living ceremony and ritual food. Most people engaged in ritual are familiar with ritual fumigation with herbs, referred to as many by 'smudging', however how about creating delicious foods created with those ingredients instead and start your day off with a ritual breakfast, energetically cleansing yourself and preparing yourself for the day ahead? This is exactly what I have done here, I've mindfully created a delicious trio of preserves that are created with potent ritual fumigation herbs that are native and wild.
 
Artemisia Annua & Wild Quince Gelée (not suitable for pregnant women or breastfeeding mothers)
Mountain Rosemary & Wild Pear Gelée
'Smudge Bundle' & Crab Apple Gelée (created with the herbs I most frequently work personally for smoke baths and ritual fumigation)
 
I intentionally wanted to incorporate these particular wild fruits as they are all part of the rose family, therefore bring that incredible energy to the blend as well as their own delicious flavour profiles.
 
In addition to the medicinal properties of these wild botanical ingredients, this gelée has been elevated through the addition of botanical extracts, flower essences and crystal essences to support the journey this season.
 
This is a pantry staple each year, and anyone who has participated in my residential retreat programs will know these as they usually end up eating them from the jar by the spoon - they are that good! At home we save these as a special birthday treat each year with freshly baked croissants. These gelée's are incredibly fragrant and delicious on bread, toast, baked goods, with a fruit salad, even with natural yoghurt.
 
This seasonal preserve comes in a beautiful locally made recycled glass apothecary jar, complete with our wild botanical Celtic Wheel of the Year mandala art debossed in a wax seal made with handgathered finely ground pyrite, selenite, and biotite crystals. Each jar is adorned with a floral crown.
 
As with all offerings, every single ingredient has been hand gathered, dried and prepared by me personally, ensuring sustainable, biodynamic and ceremonious gathering of plant medicines, highest quality organic ingredients, and energetic integrity from start to finish.
 
Keep refrigerated once opened, and use within three months. Our handcrafted SOULFOODS are free of all additives, preservatives, artifical flavours, colourings, sweetners etc. We make real food, with real ingredients.
