This listing is for one EARTH PRAYERS wild clay paint palette and set of eight earth pigments. The wild clay that was gathered for this ceramic paint palette was collected in the high Alps next to streams of glacial melt water. Each piece was shaped by hand, textured by a stone gathered in the stream, and the clay itself was not 'purified' of the tiny stones that occurred in it, they are still there and tell their own stories. Each palette is a one off, handmade and completely unique, as such, slight variations will occur in shape and colour. Each palette is finished with cordage made from reindeer rawhide that has been eco dyed with Oak tannins, so you can hang your palette as a piece of talismanic art between uses if you wish. As you can see from these pictures, the paint palette is large.
The EARTH PRAYERS wild clay paint palette comes with a set of eight earth pigments, one for each of the eight sacred festivals in the Celtic Wheel of the Year. Each earth pigment was gathered by hand and ground in a hand carved mortar and pestle made from Gneiss. This material roughly dates to about 1.6 billion years old and some of the Gneiss in that locality is over 3 billion years old, making it among the oldest rocks on earth (which is about 4.5 billion years itself). This gives a whole other dimension of contemplation when you consider O’Donohue speaking of stone as the tabernacle of memory. Each earth pigment comes to you in a recycled glass bottle with cork stopper, ritually sealed with local beeswax, and adorned with our botanical Celtic Wheel of the Year mandala.
A personal note on the price - I am aware that these are vastly underpriced, however it is important to me personally that this offering remain as financially accessible as possible to those who feel drawn to work with them. Doing so is my way of honouring this ancient art, and seeing YOU for the path you walk and the work you are practively doing. Too few people are engaged in this deep form of ritual work in these fast modern days, so I hope that this might encourage more to consider it.

All offerings are made from seasonal, sustainably hand harvested local native plants, flowers, resins, our medicinal plant tinctures, extracts, our tree, flower, mushroom and crystal essences and much more. Absolutely every single ingredients is gathered by me, crafted by me, packed and shipped by me, nobody else touches them. This is something I am very 'strict' about, and for good reason too as it relates with energetic integrity and ritual creation. This is why I 'work' ritually, in silence, and alone at all times and at all stages in the process.
