This listing is for one Handcrafted Wild Clay Moonflower Vessel, from The heART of Ritual.

There are five different ones to choose from so please be sure to select the one you want. There is one large size which is ideal for a larger sacred space, and four smaller ones that are ideal for personal use or for small group altars.

Each is created from a beautiful creamy hand gathered wild kaolinitic clay, and accented with an iron and copper rich wild glaze which almost appears metallic in places! The light clay I've worked with represents the full moon, the dark glaze represents the new moon.

This ritual offering was inspired by the womb space, cosmic egg, and the vulva as it appears throughout religious art. These were created to hold flowers as offering to the womb space, and I call them Moonflower Vessels. Working with them, placing water inside, and gathering flower offerings as a ritual was inspired by my own work as a womb health facilitator, my love of nightshade and datura flowers, and one of my favourite quotes by Anaïs Nin - “And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” These vessels are an honouring for our womb space, our inner oceans, the life giving gift of water, our healing, and potential. They hold meaningful sacred space with purpose, a deeply healing ritual in itself.

These wild clay keepsake vessels are lovingly handsculpted from a white kaolin clay that I hand gathered in the Balkans. After a year of processing and curing the clay, this wild earth gorgeousness was shaped by hand into these beautiful ritual vessels, adorned with my Celtic Wheel of the Year botanical prayer mandala (which represents the seasons and solar/earth year), textured with a piece of basalt stone from Bantry Bay, and fired in the kiln. Each one of these is unique and one of a kind. The one you select is the exact one you will receive. These are partially glazed on the outside, and fully glazed on the inside. The reason for this is that I really want the outer surface to remain raw to the touch, untamed, and full of unpolished texture. I wanted this contrast between inner world and outer to be visceral. The natural organic curves and surfaces on the inside have been smoothened by my fingertips only...absolutely no other 'tools' were used apart from my hands and the piece of basalt stone to texture! And just in case you didn't notice, the openings to all of these vessels are intentionally freehand, inspired by the womb space, cosmic egg, and the vulva as it appears throughout religious art.

As this is intentionally created as a ritual item, please ensure you lovingly wash this by hand and not merely put it in the dishwashing machine. The cleaning aspect and care for our ritual tools is a very important part of the overall prayer experience.
