'I thought the earth remembered me,
she took me back so tenderly,
arranging her dark skirts, her pockets
full of lichens and seeds.
I slept as never before, a stone on the river bed,
nothing between me and the white fire of the stars
but my thoughts, and they floated light as moths
among the branches of the perfect trees.
All night I heard the small kingdoms
breathing around me, the insects,
and the birds who do their work in the darkness.
All night I rose and fell, as if in water,
grappling with a luminous doom. By morning
I had vanished at least a dozen times
into something better.'

ABOUT
BIOPHILIA Mentorship™
A year-long rite of passage, carried by wind and rooted in stone, shaped by the elements, the soul, and the old turning of the year.
BIOPHILIA Mentorship™ is an intimate one-to-one journey for those seeking a steadier rhythm beneath the noise — a return to elemental time, to land-rooted learning, to soul as something lived rather than spoken about.
This is a rite of passage, not a programme. An immersion, not a course. A slow unfolding shaped by the eight seasonal thresholds of the year — Samhain, Winter Solstice, Imbolc, Spring Equinox, Bealtaine, Summer Solstice, Lúnasa, and Autumn Equinox. Together, we walk the turning of the year as a living mythology. With each threshold, a new archetype, elemental force, and ancestral teaching comes forward. With each season, we listen, respond, and grow.
This mentorship follows the Celtic Wheel of the Year as its framework — an ancient mapping of time drawn from centuries of land-based observation. It is a rhythm older than the clock, rooted in earth and sky, moon and sea, fire and seed. We journey with the elements, the archetypes, the stories and songs of each season, exploring them not as abstractions but as vital teachings for how to live, age, grieve, create, connect, and belong.
We draw on eco-psychology — not as a modern invention, but as a remembering. The term speaks to the interwoven psyche of the earth and the human being. It invites us to observe how the cycles of water, fire, root, and breath move through both the inner and outer world. This is not therapeutic performance. It is a slow literacy in what is already alive within and around you.
BIOPHILIA means “love of life.” At its heart, this mentorship is about relationship — with place, with pattern, with presence, with soul. Together we explore the poetics of place through sustainable, earth-based practices: wildcrafting, creative prayer expression, natural healing, and ceremonial engagement with the wild and the sacred. Each aspect of the journey honours the ancient ways of learning — through listening, through story, through the spoken word.
We meet once each month for a three-hour session, carried not by slides or notes, but by conversation. Each session is an oral transmission, shaped by the season, the land, and what you bring. There is a clear framework beneath it all — the Wheel, the elements, the archetypes, the festivals, the traditions and folklore — but it is offered in the old way, not by instruction but by invitation. This is not a curriculum of bullet points. It is a shared rhythm, a mythic thread, a deepening.
At the close of each session, you receive three invitations — one for the land, one for the soul, and one for the creative or therapeutic self. These are not “assignments” but gateways for integration: a way to stay in living dialogue with the work. You might find yourself walking a certain path at dawn, crafting an altar from gathered stones, writing a letter to a lost part of yourself, or tending a fire in silence. These invitations are how the teachings settle into your bones.
This mentorship is about process, not outcome. There is no end goal, no certificate, no final achievement. What matters is how you meet each moment along the way — how you carry it, what it stirs, where it takes root. Growth comes not through effort alone, but through your willingness to meet what arrives. Some seasons may feel luminous. Others may ask more of you. This is part of the rite. Soul is not linear. It grows through spirals.
Each participant will receive this work differently — and rightly so. The process is as unique as your own life’s shape and story. This is not a one-size-fits-all path. It is a handwoven journey, responsive, alive, quietly transformative.
This is also a commitment on both sides. The depth of what is offered requires time, energy, and presence — not only from you, but from me as mentor. This is why only three places are offered each year. Not to create exclusivity, but to preserve the intimacy and integrity of the work. Quality over quantity. Relationship over reach. This is a rare offering in a culture of rush. It is for those who are ready to walk rather than talk, to show up fully and be met fully in return.
I offer this mentorship from within a living oral tradition. I was born and raised in Ireland, in a culture where the seasons are still stories — where myth, landscape, and memory are braided into the rhythm of daily life. These teachings are not borrowed or invented. They are the lifeblood of my own people and place, carried in the bones of the land I call home.
And yet, this is not just Irish work. While the cultural roots of this mentorship lie in the Celtic world, its deeper threads are shared by all Indigenous traditions. Wherever there is wind and seed, moon and tide, mountain and star, there is a listening tradition. A wisdom born of observation, of reciprocity, of belonging. If you come with reverence for your own land, your own ancestral line — or a longing to rediscover it — you are welcome here.
The next mentorship cycle begins in November 2025, aligning with Samhain, the Celtic New Year — the season of descent, of root, of remembering.
Applications are now open.
HOW TO APPLY
If you feel called to step into the next cycle of the BIOPHILIA Mentorship™, please complete the application form via the button below. As part of this application you are invited to share what draws you to the path, what edges or themes you wish to tend in your own life, and how you sense this slow, year-long rhythm might support your growth.
Once your application is received, we’ll arrange a quiet, informal conversation together. This is not an interview in the conventional sense, but a mutual listening — to discern whether the timing, depth, and rhythm of this work is truly aligned. You will be notified of the outcome within one week of this meeting.
Only three mentorship places are offered each year, in keeping with the spirit of intimacy and integrity that this work requires.
EXCHANGE
This mentorship walks at the rhythm of seasons, not the pace of the marketplace. It is not a product but a path — a year-long journey held one-to-one, rooted in ancestral remembering, elemental wisdom, and the poetics of place.
To ensure the work remains both accessible and in the spirit of cóir and comhroinn, this mentorship honours a tiered exchange model—one that acknowledges difference in means while preserving the equal depth of teaching offered to all. Just as the old ways taught through fairness and reciprocity, this approach supports not only you as a seeker, but others walking beside you.
-
Acorn – €1,495
This is the minimum exchange — a grounded, respectful offering that makes the mentorship accessible while acknowledging the time, depth, and energy it asks of both mentor and mentee.
-
Sapling – €1,745
For those who are able to give more, this tier helps sustain the mentorship and supports the roots of future offerings. It helps
to keep the Acorn tier available for those with limited financial means, while nourishing the growth of the work as a whole.
-
Oak Heart – €1,995
The Oak Heart tier extends beyond the mentorship itself. Contributions at this level help to fund scholarships, nurtures cross-
cultural exchange, community relations, and ensures that this work reaches those who may be deeply called to it but do not
currently have the financial means to access it. This is one way we honour shared belonging, reciprocity, and the deeper
weaving of community.
No matter which tier you choose, the offering remains the same: twelve months of deep, seasonal soul work — grounded, generous, and intimate. A rare invitation in these hurried times. Please note that the exchange for this one-to-one, year-long mentorship is a non-refundable commitment, reflecting the care and depth that this shared path requires.
