The (s)Mother Wound – From Survival to Sovereignty, from Silence to Song™

  • 13 Steps

About

The (s)Mother Wound is a living body of work for those who were made to mother their mothers, punished for their presence, or silenced for simply being. It speaks to those who became caretakers too soon, confidantes too young – those who learned to read the room before they could read a book. It is for those who have spent years surviving – managing, performing, enduring, becoming what was needed – and now feel the quiet call to remember who they were before the forgetting began. Rooted in Irish cosmology, elemental wisdom, and ancestral memory, this body of work traces the long shadow of maternal wounding and the quiet return to self. It guides you through seven mythopoetic passages – from the fractured hearth of distorted love to the threshold of soul retrieval. Themes include emotional engulfment, parentification, exile, blame, frozen loyalty, identity rupture, and the slow rebuilding of inner ground. You will be companioned by long-form myths, somatic ritual, grief composting, symbolic practice, and land-rooted reflection. Mythic figures such as the Morrígan, Étaín, Macha, Brigid, and the Cailleach appear not as archetypes to emulate, but as fierce and ancient mirrors of the journey home. Developed through decades of clinical practice, facilitation, and lived experience, this work honours complexity and grief. It offers no quick fix – only a remembering. A return to what your own mother may not have been able to give. Here, your voice is welcomed back. Your rhythm is restored. Your inner fire rekindled. You are not here to perfect yourself. You are here to unbind what was never yours – and begin again, on your own terms.
