Spring: A Seasonal Passage of Imbolc and the Spring Equinox™ (Celtic Wheel of the Year Series)

  • 26 Steps

About

This self-paced seasonal curriculum explores Spring festivals within the Celtic Wheel of the Year as a living arc of emergence, orientation, and commitment, carried through the paired thresholds of Imbolc and the Spring Equinox. Rather than treating these festivals as isolated events, this work follows Spring as a continuous movement – from the inward thaw and quiet preparation of Imbolc, through to the moment of balance, clarity, and outward commitment marked by the Equinox. Together, these two festivals form a complete seasonal passage: the gathering of what is needed, and the decision to step forward. Rooted in Irish cosmology, land-based observation, and elemental tradition, this curriculum approaches Spring through the Air element and the Virgin (Maiden) archetype – held in both its receptive and projective aspects. Attention is given to domestic and seasonal practices, thresholds of home and landscape, breath and orientation, balance and direction, and the relationship between inner weather and the living land. While written through an Irish lens – informed by West Cork land, weather, and folk memory – the work is designed to be engaged with wherever you are in the world. The emphasis throughout is on learning to observe place, season, and state of being, rather than following fixed dates or external instruction. Spring is understood not only as a time in the year, but as a condition that arises within the body and the life. This curriculum forms Part One of a four-season series exploring the Celtic Wheel of the Year as a lived relationship with time, land, and elemental movement. It is not a depth psychology programme, nor a substitute for my in-person or mentorship work, but a grounded foundation that supports deeper engagement across the wider body of offerings. Designed for slow, attentive study, this programme is self-paced and available with lifetime access, allowing it to be returned to across years and seasons as understanding deepens.
