The inspiration for this offering is Atlantis, the Irish myths, legends and folklore of the Selkies (mermaids) and the Atlantic Ocean. The sea salt in this blend is gathered along the west coast of Ireland, as is the seaweed. Added to this are wild blossoms of forgetmenots and cornflowers, finely ground selenite and pearl powders that I gathered in Spain and Ireland, finely ground Azurite that I gathered in the high Alps nearby, and my own pure oils of wild mint and rosemary (to soothe and relax). To this I added flakes of hand gathered pearlescent mica - they remind me of fish scales and when I consider the legends of these shapeshifting Selkies, I felt it would be a treat to bathe in these and regrow our tails so to speak!
This mineral rich ocean inspired salt soak blend can be used as full body bath salts and/or foot baths, simply add to your bathing water. Alternatively if you add some melted coconut oil to the mixture, it makes a wonderful exfoliating salt scrub.
Please note that there are blossoms of wild forgetmenots and cornflowers added to this ritual salt soak, if you do not wish to have these floating in your bathing water, simply place a portion of the blend into the middle of a small piece of lightweight cloth, tie it closed, and add to your bathing water as a 'bath bag'. The Azurite crystal powder is very finely ground and will infuse your bath water still, it will not clog your drain. You can compost the contents of your bath bag afterwards assuming the fabric you use is natural, biodegradable, and undyed.
This incredible blend comes to you in a beautiful recycled glass apothecary bottle with hand dipped beeswax sealed cork, and complete with our wild botanical Celtic Wheel of the Year mandala art. Each bottle is adorned with seasonal wild native medicinal herbs, flowers and seed heads gathered in the mountains around our home.
