This deeply nourishing and deliciously fragrant skin ritual treatment is lovingly handcrafted using my own pure (cold pressed) floral oils. Other ingredients include plant extracts of Yarrow, Mugwort, Ladys Mantle, and Wild Rose from the mountains around our home, crystal goodness with compliments of Calcite and Lepidolite, and flower essences of Wild Rose, Yarrow, and Daisy to nurture, nourish and restore. Each is finished off with a sprinkling of shimmery Selenite powder and a crescent moon of full moon harvested dried blossoms of yarrow and miniature rosebuds. I hope you can see the ritual and love that went into your honouring, and that you inJoy working with this ritual as part of your self care.
ABOUT THESE WILD CLAY VESSELS
These wild clay keepsake vessels are lovingly handsculpted from a white kaolin clay that I hand gathered in the Balkans. After a year of processing and curing the clay, this wild earth gorgeousness was shaped by hand into these beautiful ritual vessels, adorned with my Celtic Wheel of the Year botanical prayer mandala (which represents the seasons and solar year), textured with a piece of basalt stone from Bantry Bay, and fired in the kiln. Each one of these is unique and one of a kind. I do make my own wild glazes but have left these unglazed on the outside, and a clear glaze on the inside and under the lid. The reason for this is that I really want the outer surface to remain raw to the touch, untamed, and full of unpolished texture. The natural organic curves and surfaces on the inside have been smoothened by my fingertips only...absolutely no other 'tools' were used apart from my hands and the piece of basalt stone to texturee!
As a topical body product, these are incredible conditioners for sun kissed bodies. It's a formula I developed for myself over the years as I have very sensitive skin. In summer my skin needs to breathe or I get prickly heat and having tried numerous natural products that just didn't have that ability, I ended up making my own. These are what I use. They suit all skin types and are absorbed fully into the skin without that awful icky residue you get from alot of products. They leave your skin feeling as soft as silk, and visibly glowing. The fact that its made from the land that loves me is the absolute cherry on the cake.
To use: apply to towel dried skin after bathing. Please keep refridgerated between uses.
All SKINFOOD offerings are made from sustainably gathered local native plants, flowers, resins, our medicinal plant tinctures, extracts, our tree, flower, mushroom and crystal essences and much more.
Our highly fragrant luxury SKINFOOD has been charged with crystals using both direct and indirect methods, and each one comes complete with our wild botanical Celtic Wheel of the Year mandala art. These are 100% wildcrafted, cruelty free, and ethical conscious living body products. These soak right into your skin and do not leave an oily residue.
INSIGHTS INTO THIS OFFERING
My Clary Sage, Wild Rose, Rosehip, Selenite, Pearl & Rose Quartz Beauty Balm makes a welcome return this season, along with the Clary Sage, Pearl & Wild Rose Body Conditioner. There is a twist (and yes, clearly I must be nuts); I've created special handsculpted, wild clay vessels for these two beloved offerings! The reason for this is because I am keen to deepen skincare ritual even further, and these two particular offerings are ones I cannot be without. I have wanted to move away from using tins in skincare for quite some time, and during the pandemic I had invested in having packaging made from mushroom cellulose and seaweed, however the company went bust and I went back to the drawing board. There are very few options available for natural sustainable packaging unless one has the budget of the major cosmetic companies. I had always hoped people would upcycle the tins they received when the product is gone, however I'm not comfortable pushing the responsibility of reusing/recycling on customers. The answer was to change the vessel, and having spent the last four years researching options, it's come down to me needing to make my own. So I am. These skinfood vessels are artistic, tactile and beautiful, and intended as ritual keepsakes. I'm so pleased with how this has turned out and feel strongly that the world needs more of these sort of mindful offerings. Our souls yearn for them. In a world full of perfection, homogenous offerings, clean straight lines and shiny smooth things, when something unique and hand crafted is offered, I run towards it. On a deep level, we each long for the human touch, and to experience offerings fully honouring human-ness, made by human hands. This is why these vessels needed to be made, this is why the tins needed to go. It is an honouring.
Please note our refills do not come in the clay vessel photographed here.
All photographs are taken in natural diffused light and unedited so as to represent the products as best possible. However, please note that these vessels are created with wild clay and due to this being a natural material, there may be colour variations from piece to piece.
