This listing is for one portion of 'Breathe Easy' chest ointment, the herbal decongestant and expectorant from The heART of Ritual.

It's that time of year where colds, flus, and coughs start doing the rounds, and as a natural, non toxic, wild herbal alternative to commercially produced vapo-rub, we make a batch of this decongestant for community each winter. This chest ointment is suitable for children aged three and upwards.

This is a must have topical treatment for winter colds and flus, and we can never seem to make enough of it for the apothecary. Each of these generously sized portions should be more than enough for a family of two adults and three children for at least one year. Note this can also be used on joints for cold and flu related joint pain if needs be.

To use: gently apply a small amount on the chest area, preferably on towel dried skin after bathing.

Please be sure you wash your hands immediately after use - this blend includes hot spices in it and should not be applied to areas around the eyes, mucus membranes, broken skin, scar tissue or sensitive areas of the skin in general.

Themes & Focus for this Collection

Our upcoming seasonal shop opening coincides with the Celtic Festival of Samhain and takes place within the liminal space between the last new moon of the Celtic year in October, astronomical Samhain, and the first new moon of the Celtic New Year in November. It is during this time that the death of the old (year) and the birth of the new (year) occurs. With this we enter the dreamtime cycle of moons; a time honouring the birth that takes place during and after the darkest times. It is a potent time of observing blood, bones, ancestors, (re)connection, introspection, and 'getting to know the lay of the land'...within. Many refer to this time as a 'thinning of the veils', however those of us whose ears are finely tuned, we know that the 'veil' is always thin.
